The idea of the band “Saddìdandà” was born in  Pisa (in Tuscany) which Kinzica Caterini left in 2005 to go to Berlin, without doubt a city full of inspirations, where she founded the band.

The name is not a tongue-twister ;) , in reality it originates in the typically Tuscan expression “S’a dì d’andà” which means “so let’s go!” or “let’s say we’ll leave” and so the name of the band was born when Kinzica moved to Berlin and took a guitar in her hands, started to write songs that have been on her mind for some time but which she composed with some kind of nostalgic longing for her Italian and Tuscan origins.

Saddìdandà is the fruit of the collaboration with her musicians who are all somehow linked to Italy, although none of them is actually Italian, and with whom Kinzica has established a sincere “Italian-Berlin” friendship: Erich Gramshammer on guitars, Tom Baumann on drums, Ferdinand von Seebach on piano and trombone, and Andreas Henze on double bass as well as special featuring Mathias Baumann on the violin and Guilherme Rodrigues on cello.

I Saddìdandà partono con Kinzica Caterini dalla Toscana (Pisa) ma in realtà nascono come gruppo nel 2010 a Berlino, città senza dubbio di grande ispirazione, dove Kinzica vive ormai dal 2005.

Il nome non è uno scioglilingua ;-) In realtà proviene da un’espressione toscana “S’a dì d’andà” che significa : “Diciamo di andare?“ ed è nata quando Kinzica si è trasferita a Berlino e ha ripreso a suonare la sua chitarra, cominciando a scrivere canzoni che la cantautrice aveva nella testa già da tempo, ma che ha composto presa dal desiderio di riavvicinarsi alle sue origini italiane e toscane.

Saddìdandà è il frutto anche della collaborazione con i suoi musicisti, tutti in qualche modo legatissimi all’Italia, anche se tutti e tre stranieri, con i quali si è instaurato un sincero legame “italo-berlinese” d’amicizia: Erich Gramshammer alla chitarra, Tom Baumann alla batteria, Ferdinand von Seebach al trombone e al piano, Andreas Henze al contrabbasso e con la partecipazione di Mathias Baumann al violino e Guilherme Rodrigues al cello.

Die Idee der Band entstand bereits in der Heimatstadt von Kinzica Caterini, Pisa (Toskana), die sie in 2005 Richtung Berlin verließ. Hier hat sich dann die heutige Band gegründet.

Der Name der Band ist nicht etwa ein Zungenbrecher, sondern hat seinen Ursprung in der typisch toskanischen Äußerung “S’a dì d’andà“, was so viel wie „So Leute, wie stehts, sollen wir mal los?“ bedeutet. Und so entstand der Bandname als Kinzica vor Jahren wieder mal die Gitarre in die Hand nahm und begann Songs zu schreiben, die sie schon lange im Kopf hatte und irgendwie inspiriert durch nostalgische Gefühle für ihre Heimat zu Papier bringen und vertonen wollte.

Saddìdandà ist in großem Maß das Produkt der Zusammenarbeit mit ihren außerordentlichen Musikern, die alle auf ihre eigene Art und Weise mit Italien verbunden sind, obwohl keiner von ihnen Italiener ist (jedenfalls nicht offiziell J).

Mit ihnen verbindet Kinzica eine besondere Art von Freundschaft. Es sind Erich Gramshammer (Gitarre), Tom Baumann (Schlagzeug), Ferdinand von Seebach (Piano und Posaune) und Andreas Henze (Kontrabass) sowie als spezial guest
